Personal Waste Recycling Equipment

I bought myself a hobby farm and I am trying to make my family as self sufficient as possible. We are going to not only grow things in the garden for fresh produce, we are also going to learn how to can the extra and make sauces and jellies for the winter. We are going to make our own personal waste recycling equipment such as a huge compost bin. We have alread made a cart for our paper and plastic items that we take out on recycling day. Cost is a factor, but I think canning and freezing out produce will pay off .
